This year's event will be on October 21, 2006 from 8:30AM-5:30PM. If this is your first time registering for MPF, Welcome! We promise you that you will not be disappointed! The aim of this program is to provide an informative series of workshops, and speakers to help underrepresented minority premedical students at the various schools in the state of Florida prepare to be successful applicants in the medical school admission process. Last year was the fifth year that we hosted the event and it was a great success. About 250 students representing 9 undergraduate institutions in the state of Florida attended, and nineteen medical schools participated: University of Florida, University of Miami, University of South Florida, UNC Chapel Hill, University of Michigan, Wake Forest, Creighton, University of Pennsylvania, Midwestern University, Columbia University, Yale University, Case Western, Albert Einstein, Jefferson, Meharry, Mayo, West Virginia Osteopathic, Virginia Osteopathic, and Uniformed Services. This year's event will feature Dr. Kendall Campbell, Assistant Dean for Minority Affairs, Clinical Assistant Professor of Community Health and Family Medicine, as our main speaker. It will also include local doctors, medical students, professors and medical school representatives. We are attempting to acquire a second speaker as well. The cost of attendance is $25.00 which will include breakfast, buffet lunch, a t-shirt, a tote bag with an informational packet, and a chance at winning door prizes. The first 10 people to register will be able to have a one-on-one session with a medical school representative or medical student so that they can personally review your application and give you pointers! Registration will be open beginning Friday, September 16th and will be entirely online. You must turn in the registration receipt that you printed out with your fee by Wednesday , October 18th at 5:00PM . There is a $10.00 late fee for any applications turned in after this date.
